Therapy
Reasons people seek therapy:
-pattern of people pleasing, unclear boundaries and not knowing how to say “no”
-lack of confidence (at work, in social settings, romantic relationships)
-disconnect with their feelings, not knowing how to identify or express them
Individual Therapy
Reasons couples seek therapy:
-I don’t feel heard/validated
-when things escalate, we end up not speaking for days, and then start talking as if nothing has happened
-I feel so ______ (angry, hurt, disappointed) and I am afraid he/she will leave if I tell them
-we are getting married and want to work on communication and conflict management
Couples Therapy
My Approach
I leverage Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy , and Systemic Therapy to examine unhealthy thoughts/patterns clients may be playing out. I also look at where these narratives stem from and explore more flexible/healthy ways of thinking, behaving, and relating to others.
I employ a collaborative, action oriented, and strength focused approach in which we partner around your goals and which requires practice in and out of sessions.
What to expect in therapy with me…
We meet weekly, individuals for 50 minute sessions and couples for 75 minute sessions via a secure telehealth platform.
Begin by co-creating goals to guide our work, exploring your individual and family history, patterns, strengths and struggles.
Start weekly sessions by checking in and noting any pressing concerns that may have come up.
We discuss and practice skills, while reviewing progress and barriers towards interventions.
Some sessions will involve tears, some laughter, and others will involve both! It is a space and time where you will feel heard, held, and have the opportunity to grow.
